Veronica Gorgeois

In my never-ending quest for information on dealing with super dry skin, I came across a great video (at the end of this post).

Veronica Gorgeois (pictured above) is an esthetician with a very popular YouTube channel. She shares my same philosophies about skincare AND she has super dry skin. I love her.

Her tips include things I’m already doing such as using argan oil and Eucerin’s Aquaphor Healing Ointment, creamy cleansers and – something which I think you might laugh at but I’ve been thinking about for a while – sleeping on a non-absorbent pillowcase. Watch the video to find out more.

Bitch I’m Madonna from Rebel Heart.

I have a kind of love/hate relationship with this song from Madonna’s most recent album. I like a lot about it but it also grates on me somewhat.

Today (June 18) Madge released the official video for Bitch I’m Madonna and I find myself liking the song a whole lot more.

She’s still wearing that ridiculous grill but gives a great performance. I only wish Madge would take off the studded jacket. I kept worrying she was going to injure someone.

Wanna know what the heck this ‘Madonna Friday’ thing is all about? Well let me tell you.

If you’ve read the first post on this blog, you’ll know I’m a big Madonna fan.

And for that reason alone, every Friday I’ll be sharing with you one of my favourite Madonna videos. Or, at least, that’s the plan.

I usually drink wine on Friday nights and watch stuff on YouTube – invariably Madonna music videos, performances and interviews.

I would start with Vogue but there’s a beauty-related story that goes along with the song and I need to spend a bit of time putting it together.

The next closest thing is Girl Gone Wild which has always been one of my favourite tracks from her MDNA album. PLUS this song has been in my head every day for the past week.

My favourite part? The silhouetted dancing men in heels.

I’m writing this post long before anyone is likely to see it but feel quite moved to share this video with you and – with it – another part of my beauty story.

I can’t explain why but I’ve been a fan since I was a kid. We’re talking pre-teen here.

I’ve always found Madge unbelievably beautiful. As a kid and teenager, I’ve tried to dress like her and do my hair and makeup like her. Obviously, I looked NOTHING like her.

But she’s absolutely one of my beauty icons. I’m less impressed with her these days because she’s refusing to grow old gracefully and appears to have had some kind of cosmetic procedure on her face.

But I’ll always love Madge.

Frequently on a Friday night (this may become a regular item on the blog) I watch a Madge video or 10.

At the time of writing this post I’ve watched the following video five times in a row. I’m not sure I’ve EVER watched a YouTube video that many times in a row.

What struck me here is that she appears to be HAVING THE TIME OF HER LIFE.
